Acer To Be The First One To Come Out With Google Chrome OS Netbook

12 January 2010

Many of you already know, Google, in the coming year -2010, will release the much expected Google Chrome OS. But before that the race between different netbook companies to win the market has already started.  A couple of days back Dell brought out a compatible version for mini netbooks. Though Dell is not named in the official partner list by Google, it still helped itself get all the attention by introducing this compatible version.

Second in the row is Acer, which is claiming to be the first one to manufacture a netbook to support Google Chrome OS.  In fact Acer has already begun the manufacturing work (started sometime in mid 2009).If Acer will live up to its claim or not cannot be said now. Last time we all saw that Acer failed in making netbooks those were to support Android (users could not install anything on these Android netbooks. Only the battery lasted longer with Android running on the netbook). This time Acer may actually be the first one to bring out netbooks for Chrome OS. But like I said earlier, nothing is confirmed.

For those who still do not know much about the Chrome OS news, Google Chrome Operating system will act both like a browser and an operating system. With that one will not have to install various tools, softwares etc. Everything will be present on cloud; and one can just take it from there, use it and return it to the cloud. Simple. Once out in the market, the Chrome OS will make things so much different. So now you get why the race is so important.

We only hope is that users get a good, convenient to use netbook for Google Chrome Operating System. Until then let’s wait and watch who else joins the race. There are already two…

Dell Out With A Compatible Version Of Google Chrome OS

3 January 2010

Google’s Chrome OS, perhaps, is the most looked forward to thing in 2010. The fact that everything is going to be on cloud and that users will not require to install anything (any tools, softwares etc.) makes Google Chrome a useful thing. A software that will work both as your operating system and the web browser is a sure thing to have in your computer. Also, it is said that with Google Chrome as your Operating system, it would take only seven seconds to get on to Internet.  Well, that’s definitely too fast!

I did know about all this (the news of Google Chrome OS is everywhere), but was quite surprised to know that Dell has already made available a compatible version for mini 10v netbook users. I found the information on this tech blog – onlygizmos.com. I personally am waiting to use the actual Google Chrome OS, but until then Dell version would be a great thing to play with.

Anybody can download this 10v compatible version from the link given on the post – Dell Honours Geeks, Gives Chrome OS to Play With. You will also find a link to the instruction set on how to download and use the version. It’s a simple work. You can load the file in a USB and then get on using it.

Dell users are sure having a great time getting to use the Google Chrome OS, a 10v version though. Until the actual Google Chrome OS comes out in the market for public usage (and that’s not until 2010), all internet fanatics may use this compatible version by Dell.

But a word of caution: The application may have certain issues, so users are required to be very careful while downloading and using it. WiFi connectivity can cause a lot of problems. Nonetheless, it is worth trying out Dell’s work.

Dell Notebook – Light, Thin and Extremely Portable

29 December 2009

A Dell notebook may be quite an acquisition for somebody interested in computers and in need of one that is light and thin, therefore extremely portable. On top of the fact that it is easy to handle, a Dell notebook doesn’t go too deep in your pocket. For instance, the new Dell Mini Inspiron comes for less than $500 but the more options you would like it to have on it, the higher gets the price. This Dell notebook relies on a TFT display with a specific resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The processor is an Intel Atom with a frequency of 1.6 Ghz. Furthermore, with a Dell notebook you eliminate lots of the bothersome cables necessary for photo and data transfers, as this computer comes with a card reader for very easy use. The two operating systems it can function with are OS Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux.

The Inspiron 1525 Dell notebook was another market success thanks to the artist concept incorporated in the design. The looks of this series is totally new and therefore more attractive or stimulating as compared to other notebooks. Not only can you choose the color to represent you and go with whatever piece of outfit you want, but also the pattern or drawing that surely says more about who you are. Dell notebook manufacturers have initiated a collaboration with Mike Ming, a Brooklyn artist, owner of two plants the Sea Sky and Bunch o’ Surfers and who had the idea of infusing a popular mini laptop with a touch of energy, elegant complexity and psychedelic lines. Dell company guarantees that the design looking like an original Ming will not fade or wear off in color as the designed is inlaid and of very high quality.

All in all, the purchase of a Dell notebook should involve an analysis of the applications it would serve for. If the mini laptop is merely for your own free time, then you can go for the Inspiron line, mentioned above, which has been created taking into account the reduced customer budget. The designs in this category are to be more accessible for those who still prefer a version of computer that is portable and handy anywhere they might be. However, If compared with the designs in the XPS series, the Inspiron Dell notebook does not have the same quality standard performance, yet, there remains room for improvement. As it results from the above lines, the XPS line of Dell notebooks remains professionals’ choice as these can really support the different needs of their users.
